Hi. I’m glad you opened this.

Once, back when we were young, fresh, and pandemic free, possibly in a previous decade even - you signed up for an email list or newsletter, or event, related to my art shenanigans, or my design practice. Or maybe you didn’t sign up but you know who I am. Maybe really well. Perhaps we share a bloodline. Perhaps you we are unrelated, but you attended one of my weddings…

Thanks, I’ll be playing here all night.

Some of you may have no idea who I am or why I’m emailing you. Your life is about to get better or weirder. If you are like me, those might be the same thing.

Either way I’m sending you this to let you know I’m writing online again. Not a newsletter per se, but something regular and more focused, and you can get it in your inbox if you want it bad enough. All you have to do is nothing.

On the other hand, this is your opportunity to unsubscribe. Because, let’s be honest, its been a while. We were all in different places when your email ended up in my possession. Our inboxes can be hot garbage fires. You can stick with it, too, and see what happens. That puts the pressure on me to make it worth your time. I’m not sure where this is going. I’m all about process, and that’s what this writing this going focus on anyway.

You can read about the reasons behind this new phase of writing on my About page, but I’ll tell you now that I’m working on improving my visual art and music practice, and one component of this is to better articulate myself, to myself, by way of telling yourself.

See? It’s gonna be weird.

Right now I’m working on series of posts about my current visual art language - an index of the images and ideas that I find myself drawing all the time no matter what I’m doing. I’m also going to unpack some of my past and present paintings, show images of studio work, and talk about my current music making process - which currently involves a lot of effects pedals, tape loops, sequencers and modular synth. And if I put something new and finished out into the world, this will be where I talk about it first.

Anyway, this message is going to you, as an early subscriber, on the ground floor of the investment opportunity of a life time. It’s gonna be big.

Like Betamax.

This platform has some features I’m figuring out, including paid options. You have a free subscription for life. Rest assured I’ll respect your email, and any reason you have for unsubscribing if you need to.

You’ll always be able to check in at destroyalldestroyers.com, but you won’t get updates in your inbox - you’ll just be lost.

Sad.
